ACT

Texas Succes Initiative

The College Board is providing a digital testing day on Saturday, September 17th. Information regarding this opportunity can be accessed here.

The ACT is not offered during Saturday administration at BHS. The closed testing center is at Alvord High School.

Students that choose to take the TSIA at BHS do so at a reduced cost. The link above has information regarding registration.

College Tours/fairs

Seniors receive 2 days to use for personal college tours during the year.  Students need to bring back an official letter from the college and give to the front office for the absence to be excused.

Tours will be scheduled through the fall semester. Registration links will be added once dates are finalized.

Preview Days

Many colleges host preview days for interested students.  BHS does not provide transportation to events, but student may register on their own and attend.  Seniors may use 2 college days during the school year that will not count towards their absences. The college should provide a letter of attendance that needs to be brought to the front office the day they return to school.

College Applications

Early admission deadlines for some schools come as early as November 1st.  All students should go to the admissions page of their chosen school's website to look for application requirements, deadlines, and documents needed. Students will use the link provided below to request their transcript for college admission purposes.

Apply Texas

Common App

Most public colleges and universities in Texas use Apply Texas for applications. Students will create one account, then submit their information to the schools of their choice.

Many out-of-state instructions and private Texas schools will use the Common App for their application process.
