BISD will conduct our annual Canned Food Drive for the Bowie Mission next week, November 13-16, 2023. We are so blessed to live in a community that helps our families, and now they need our help to fill the shelves for the holiday season. As you are out doing your grocery shopping this weekend, pick up some additional items for the BISD Food Drive. You can send the non-perishable items to your child's school. Specific items in need are Cereal, Crackers, Canned soup, Macaroni, Canned chili, or any other items you can give. #bowiebuilt #mission #community

Bowie ISD 1st and 2nd grade boys are headed to play in their SUPERBOWL tomorrow!!! Please come out and SEND THEM OFF with their community behind them! Please keep the information below in mind as you travel to and from BJH and BIS for student drop off and pick up. North Mill Street will be closed from East Houston Street to Small Street beginning Monday, November 6th. This is necessary in order to move natural gas pipelines to the proper depth. There is currently no estimate of when this phase of the work will be completed. However, it could be several weeks. Please be aware of new traffic patterns in the area and drive carefully.

There will be multiple events for our last Friday Night Lights at Jackrabbit Stadium this week. On Friday, November 3, 2023, the Community Pep rally at 3:30 PM in the BHS Cafeteria will include senior recognition. Also, senior night for fall sports will be at 6:30 PM at Jackrabbit Stadium before the start of the last football game of the season against the Vernon Lions, which will kick off at 7:00 PM. Also, at the game will be a bake sale to benefit our BHS FCCLA organization. It is a Great Day to be a Jackrabbit! #bowiebuilt

BISD invites the community to the last Bond Town Hall Meeting, Monday, Oct. 23rd @ BJH with tours at 5:30 and presentation at 6:00 PM. Addie Enlow, Region 9 Teacher of the Year, and Mr. Enlow, BISD Superintendent, are at the State Teacher of the Year Recognition Banquet. Mrs. Enlow is the GT/Art Teacher at Bowie Intermediate and is the first Bowie ISD teacher to be awarded a Regional Teacher of the Year Award. We are so proud of her and how she is representing BISD at the state level.

October 16-20, 2023, is Digitial Citizenship Week. Throughout the week, students will be taught what it means to be responsible, act appropriately, be safe, and use the digital world to enhance their learning. It is getting close to the Bowie All For One Community 5K. Last year, Bowie Elementary won the award for the largest team. Who will it be this year? The proceeds from this community 5K go right back to benefit many of our BISD students. The proceeds are donated to these missions: Backpack Buddies, Pregnancy Resource Center, and Child Welfare Board.
